Welcome to the new STORZ MEDICAL building in Jena
The new company building for STORZ MEDICAL Deutschland GmbH has now been completed. Employees were able to move into the new premises in Jena at the beginning of September 2021. The building, inspired by the Swiss headquarters, was erected in the record time of 14 months, from ground-breaking to move-in. The premises cover a total area of over 1570 m2. Visitors are greeted by a transparent structure, open glass fronts and airy rooms.
Ready for the future
The STORZ MEDICAL subsidiary found itself running out of space in the wake of its steady growth over the past few years. After no suitable rental properties could be found, the idea of creating a new building of the company’s own began to take shape. Managing Director Dr Rafael Storz is enthusiastic: »We have taken the opportunity to strengthen the Jena location and tailor the building to our current and future needs. Our construction partner and the colleagues on site did a great job in turning our ideas into reality in such a short time.«
STORZ MEDICAL in Jena
STORZ MEDICAL Deutschland GmbH has been in existence since 2013. There are currently ten staff members working in Jena. At the same time, the company is already looking for new talent for active support in the different teams. In addition to services ranging from sales to repairs, Jena is also home to an important part of company software development, an increasingly important position in the further development of medical technology. Furthermore, STORZ MEDICAL Deutschland GmbH is our authorised representative for access to the EU market. With a total area of around 1570 m2, premises for storage and service areas are distributed on the lower floor of the new building, and a number of office and seminar rooms are located on the upper two floors.
New training and events centre
A special highlight: The seminar rooms. Depending on the thematic focus of the event, the workshop rooms can be customised and either enlarged or subdivided, depending on training needs. A sizeable balcony invites visitors to take a deep breath during breaks while enjoying the beautiful view – all in all, the best possible conditions for the new STORZ MEDICAL training and event centre!

Sustainable concept
Ecological considerations were also a point of focus during the planning of the building, as can be seen in many places. For example, a photovoltaic system was installed on the roof, which generated significantly more electricity than it consumed in its first few months – and that in the less sunny half of the year! The green spaces have been designed so that bees and birds will find a bit of paradise there, whether it be in the flower meadow, the selected species of trees or the fruit-bearing bushes. An apple tree that provides the employees with vitamins in autumn also reflects the affinity with the headquarters in Switzerland, which is located in one of the largest apple-growing areas in the country.
