Comment

This article is a short comment on present improvements in the care of urolithiasis patients. The use of CT is mentioned as one of major recent developments, but a note of caution is necessary due to excessive radiation that follows to generous application of this imaging technology.

The problem of residual fragments encountered after various forms of modern stone removal was mentioned. The experimental attempst to remove residual fragments with micro-particles and magnets sound very interesting, but this possible treatment option is new information to the reviewer.

The association between nephrolithiasis, vascular disease and metabolic syndrome is emphasised and these are aspects that absolutely need due attention in the future.
