German Chancellor Angela Merkel visits KARL STORZ
Düsseldorf/Germany, 17.11.2010. – The groundbreaking innovations of the STORZ group attracted very prominent guests during MEDICA, the world’s largest medical trade fair. German Chancellor Angela Merkel and German Federal Minister of Health Philipp Rösler visited the KARL STORZ booth in order to inform themselves about the latest innovative products of the long-established company.

Chancellor Merkel was introduced to the integrated operating room OR1™. The system’s advantages in terms of improved workflows for surgeons, increased patient safety, and optimal resource use in the operating suite were highlighted. KARL STORZ also presented its innovative system solutions that map complete hospital processes.
As a traditional manufacturer of endoscopes, KARL STORZ is an international expert in this forward-looking market today, with more than 3,000 integrated ORs having been installed worldwide. Towards the end of Chancellor Merkel’s visit, Dr. Sybill Storz and Karl-Christian Storz presented another result of the company’s continuous development: the cutting-edge endoscope ENDOCAMELEON®, which offers a 0-120° variable viewing direction.
Not only the whole KARL STORZ team but also their colleagues at the STORZ MEDICAL booth were delighted about Chancellor Merkel’s visit, especially as she visited only six out of 4,400 companies during the trade fair.
